"hi! i'm jordyn laroux. it's french, obviously, because...i'm french...uhhh yeah. it's a little pet peeve of mine when people pronounce the x in it, so please don't do that! haha, kidding. ...really though don't pronounce the x. my grandma moved here from france though, i'm not exotic or anything, and i don't have a cool accent. that kind of sucks. anyway! i'm twenty-two years old and i sing for the band brooklyn fire." "RIGHT RIGHT, SORRY. SO TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF." "oh man. well, i try to keep a good mood as much as possible! i'm not super peppy all the time and i'm not extremely talkative or anything, but i guess the one adjective people would use to describe me most is "chill." i don't really seek out fans ever and i'm not really hyper all the time, but i'm definitely a nice person, if i do say so myself. i mean, if nothing else, then i really am nice. i tend to blend into the background sometimes, i guess, because i'm kind of just the "nice girl." i do know how to have a good time, though! i'm a pretty fun person and i'm really always up to do something, even if you call me and wake me up in the middle of the night. really, if you need someone to go out with, i'm your girl. that is, of course, unless it's before i play. i don't really go out or do anything before i play, and i don't really know why. it's become ritual. i'm just really passionate about music and i guess i don't like getting distracted before a show, and i always try to do my absolute best singing. it's my one passion in life, definitely. i didn't really have a great gpa getting out of high school, i'm not visually artistic, i'm athletic but i'm not good at sports (no, i don't know how that works) so music has really been my only outlet. also i don't even know what i would have majored in if i'd gone to college and music wasn't an option. but yeah, that's me! i do get pissy sometimes, but it's never really too bad. i can just get kind of...sassy. i try not to totally lose it, but i do have to tour with these guys and they do get pretty rowdy, ha ha. well, i try to keep a smile." "INTERESTING! WHERE WAS IT THAT YOU SAID YOU COME FROM?" "well, i'm from bradenton, florida. okay, so i'm going to tell you what it was like, but i don't want you telling me you're sorry or anything, okay? you asked! it just makes me feel bad when people say that and...i don't know. i'm fine, at this point. i'm the youngest child of three; i've got two older brothers, stephen and chris. they're twenty-five and thirty-three now, respectively. my mom was kind of young when she had chris; he's actually my half brother but that's really just more of a technicality for me than anything else. we've never even met his dad, and that's fine to really be honest. i had a fairly normal childhood up until when i was about seven or eight, i don't even remember anymore. at least, "normal" is the only word i can really find to describe it. not that i even really remember it. both my parents died in a car crash, and i know that sounds like it was a huge tragedy, and yes, it killed me and my brothers, but we moved on, so you don't have to give me that look, okay? thanks. no, really. after that, i lived with my grandma for a few years until my oldest brother chris got a higher paying job and graduated college, at which point stephen and i moved in with him since my grandma was pretty elderly too and uh, kind of senile, bless her soul. so stephen went to college, and i went to music school for like two years before brooklyn fire. and that brings me here." "WOW. SO WHAT IS A DAY IN THE LIFE OF YOU LIKE?" "well, i'm on tour right now so life's been pretty fun! except like i said, i don't like to go out and do too much before a show. i try to keep my serious face on before that. the whole band consists of my best friends, plus there's gavin perlman from hot seekers who i'm super close with, so you can probably always catch me talking to one of them. i do get along with guys more than girls, i guess, for whatever reason. plus i'm always trying to write, so i do that a lot. also, you'll probably rarely catch me eating before i play. like, six hours before i sing. i can't eat, or it comes up. i know that sounds weird, and yeah that was pretty random..." "NICE. LAST QUESTION... WHY ARE YOU WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW AND WHAT DOES THE FUTURE LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?" "are you kidding me? i have to idea what else i'd even be doing! like i said, i ended up at music school for two years after high school, you know, to try to improve, obviously. there's always room for improvement, of course. i really want to start getting bigger, having our shows sell out, you know? that'd just be the coolest." "ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD?" "nope. it was great talking to you!" hey there, the name's sienna. i live in the eastern time zone and this is my third character. |
