usually on tour there was never a quiet moment on the bus. there was noise every single part of every single day. being on the bus of so called ‘party boys’ didn’t really help the noise problem. elijah’s sleep schedule was shot the first few nights. he was used to his quiet townhouse. the only things to wake him up there were his alarm or his dog licking his face. while on tour he wanted to stay in hotels but he thought it would be easier to check on the boys if he just was with them all the time. after about a week he just about had figured out how to sleep properly through the noise. but this particular day was different. instead of him waking into yelling it was incredibly quiet. for a moment he was almost scared of what happened to the other boys but then he remembered they had went to some other bands bus for a party of sorts. he reckoned they had most likely passed out over there so he was left alone in the bus. maybe today elijah could finally get some peace and quiet. he could actually hear his thoughts and not get some beer spilled on his papers. it was a nice thought but one he had to push aside. he had work to do today. his day couldn’t just be wasted by laying around when there were future tours to book and interviews to set up.
so elijah got up from bed and got ready to go out and do some work. he put on a simple set of clothes for the day: a pair of cut off skinny jeans, a v-neck and a pair of sneakers. he got all of his things organized in his backpack and slung it over his shoulders. he knew he didn’t have much longer before the boys would be back so he wanted to make sure to get a good distance away from the bus before they came to snoop on him. plus, with them having a set today he thought it might be better for him not to harp on them to hurry up. with a protein bar in his hand he stepped out of the bus and into the warm sun. he could feel that it was going to get hot today which meant his daily bike ride would be good right about now. he figured he could ride to a café to pick up some iced coffee before he started to actually work. he hoped on his single speed and started to peddle through the maze of buses. with him not seeing many people out he swerved in and out of small obstacles, like tables and smaller vans. he started to pay more attention to the obstacles and not his surroundings. lijah took a sharp turn around a pair of buses and only looked up momentarily. in that moment he saw someone right in the path of his bike. quickly, he tried to skid out of the way but ended up hitting a table right in front of him. before lijah could fall completely to the floor he scraped his knee to catch his fall. for a moment he was shocked by what had just happened then he remembered he had just almost ran over someone else.
“shit. i am so sorry,” he said with his backed turned to the nameless person. he picked the bike back up and turned himself to actually face the other person. “i should’ve been watching where i was going,” his head was to the floor in regret. his eyes then flicked up to see who he had almost hit. there before him was a very pretty brunette. elijah set his bike against the table and approached her. he did a quick check to if she was hurt because that would have just made him feel worse than he did already. what he didn’t see was that it was him that had a pretty bad scrape on his knee. he didn’t really feel the blood starting to form because he was too concerned with the girl’s well being. “trust me i didn’t mean to scare you, or myself for that matter,” he offered a small smile. elijah knew this wasn’t probably the best time to be making light of the event but it was something he did when his nerves set in. it really had been a shock to him. usually he was more attentive to things going on around him, especially when he was on his bike. he had only crashed out like that when he was a kid still learning to ride a bike with no training wheels. that sort of thing was normal, but it wasn’t normal to be almost running into girls. because the fact that he almost ran into a girl made him feel horrible. he had probably scared her half to death with the incident.

TITLETEXTHERETITLETEXTHERE being on tour was quite the experience for hunter, mostly because the only reason she was even on tour was because of her cousin max. he always liked to get her away from the bustling city of los angelas if she he could, as if la was hurting her or something. not that she minded his somewhat protective nature. it wasn’t as bad as an older brother watching over your every move, but it wasn’t like he didn’t care at all either. it was kind of a nice balance, really. because he only stepped in whenever hunter seemed to really need some direction. so when he’d asked her to come on tour as a roadie for his band, hunter jumped at the chance. there wasn’t just a whole lot for to do in los angelas, besides work. sure sometimes she’d go out with some of her coworkers, but she wasn’t into bar hoping every weekend. no, she was more into sitting at home and gaming on the weekends. it would be a bit of a lonely life at times, but it was hers. if she were to ever invite someone over, it would be to game with her. well, unless it was some guy that she felt like playing with for the night. but that was a completely different chapter in a very complicated book. hunter could probably name the guys she’d slept with on one hand, because she was very, very picky about that. however, there was no way she could remember the name of every guy she’d made out with. because that to her, was nothing but a game.
this particular morning, hunter had woken up a little bit earlier than she normally did. the night before her and a few other people had discussed setting up the merch tent together. instead of leaving that up to gilly to do on her own, they’d decided to give her hand to move things along faster. they had nothing better to do first thing in the morning, so why not lend a helping hand? setting up a tent by yourself was probably an irritating thing to do anyway. hunter knew she wouldn’t be happy about it. so she pulled herself out of bed, shuffling through her clothes to find something that would keep her from dying in the likely heat. it didn’t take her long to decide on a pair of cut off shorts and a madison and the monster tank top. after dressing herself, she brushed her teeth and applied a little bit of make-up. she didn’t want to over do it, seeing as she’d probably sweat some of it off and make a mess of herself throughout the day anyway. after that she pulled her hair into a semi-messy ponytail, not really too concerned with making her hair look all that nice right now. after all, she was just going out to move a bunch of boxes and tables around. there wasn’t really a need to look her best for that. maybe after they got done moving things around she’d come back and put a little more effort into her appearance. most likely not, but thinking that she would made her feel a little better about it. she actually figured she’d go from helping with the tent to helping with whatever else they needed her to do at that moment. oh the life of a roadie, being bossed around by people all day. but it was a nice life. sometimes.
by the time she’d made it out to the trailer with all of the tent equipment in it, people were already pulling things out of it. for a moment she just stood to the side until they noticed she was there, then they started passing boxes and things to her. she’d sit them to the side, making a stack out of them for the time being. then came the table, which they set up to the side. soon they had everything out of the trailer, and people were starting to carry things away to the tent. the area was starting to clear out, leaving only a box for hunter and the table left to take to the tent. as she went to pick up the box, she saw a slight movement from the corner of her eye. standing up, she glanced over just in time to see a guy on a bike headed straight toward her. but before she could react, he was trying to avoid her only to crash himself into the table she’d set up just a few moments earlier. ok, so maybe setting up the table hadn’t been the best idea. nothing but shocked stutters came from hunter as the boy pulled himself back together, apologizing as he picked up his bike. when he turned, hunter couldn’t help but smile a little. he was cute. very cute. and he had some pretty nice tattoos. as he stepped toward her, she ran a hand over her own tattoo that covered the majority of her upper arm. glancing him over, she noted the blood coming from his knee and bit down on her lip. here he was concerned about her, who had suffered nothing but a nice shock, and he was bleeding. ”no, no. no reason to be sorry. we shouldn’t have set the table up in a random spot like that.” she took an instinctive step toward him as she pointed at his knee, biting down on her lip again. ”you’re bleeding. i might have something to help on the bus if you want?” at the least he probably needed some antibiotic cream and a band-aid. ”i’m really sorry, if you don’t let me help you with something i’ll probably end up eating myself up over it.” she laughed a bit, obviously joking. if he wanted to blow her off, so be it. but he was cute, and getting to help him out wouldn’t hurt her in the least.

elijah always tended to treat girls well. having a sister of his own, whom he was very close too, he always treated them with respect. but his sister had also taught him to just be comfortable around people of the opposite gender. this usually led to him being a little too nice. no, he wasn’t touchy feely with girls, he just happened to compliment them which made them think he was flirting with him. another important tip he had learned was to be a gentleman. his sister had always lectured on and on about how chivalry was dying and he needed to not let that happen. actually, when he thought about it, he was probably lectured more by his sister than his own mother. it was also may have been a bit weird because she was younger than him. elijah never seemed to be quite bothered by it though. girls were a league all their own to him, especially when he was growing up, so he could use all the help he could get. and now that he was a bit older he was actually semi-successful in the women department. lijah had been in a handful of serious relationships through out his life. some of the girls had left him in heartache but he always pulled himself through. after college he dated around but then he landed a job at truth agency. now it was mostly small flings that he couldn’t keep alive because he was busy keeping track of all out of riot. it really was a full time job for him. he wasn’t much of one for one-night stands or friends with benefits. that left him really just giving up on women while he waited to get this band settled down.
he may have not been looking for a girl, but that didn’t mean he was totally repulsed by them. there were a few girls that caught his attention then work pulled him back away from the dating scene. he would have to admit the girl he nearly ran into was rather attractive. lijah was just too worried about scaring, or even hurting, the young woman to even really think about her beauty. he had already hurt a girl in the past and that was enough for him. so maybe that time was intentional but after that incident he decided he wouldn’t ever hurt a girl. plus, he knew that he had to have made himself look like a total fool in front of her. who almost runs over a person on a bike and then crashes into a table? that would be elijah martin at your service. he really should have been paying more attention to his surroundings and not been going so sharply around corners. there was those selected few on tour that brought bikes but most opted to go on foot. he knew he should have been more aware of the fact that there are pedestrians always popping out of their buses or unpacking at end times of the day. it wasn’t like this was his first tour. once the girl had said it was fine the boy did the only reasonable guy thing and dropped it. he was half tempted to repeat over and over again how sorry he was but he knew he would just sound like some babbling idiot.
now that she talked a little more he noticed that she was almost as sorry as he was. which she had no reason to be since he had run into the table and he was the one who almost ran her over. he let out a small sigh of relief seeing as she didn’t seem to upset with him. plus, she didn’t seem like one of those girls who would get all riled up when you even just accidentally touched her. he hated those kinds of girls who were so prissy they threw a fit over any little thing that happened to them. then she pointed out his knee. “well what do you know?” he said as he know felt a small pain surge through him. he bent down slightly to inspect the wound a little further. it wasn’t too huge but it was sure not pretty either. he was about to decline her offer seeing as he felt he had caused her enough today but then she mentioned how she would be bothered if she didn’t help. “are you sure you want to help your attacker?” he joked back and cracked a full smile. he stood fully again and looked the girl over. the shock of the situation seemed to be wearing off between the two. lijah hoped that he was turning into a boy with a cut knee instead of someone who nearly ran her over. “i will accept your help though,” he said. “it is probably better to have a ladies touch then my hands doing the work.” now this may have been taking as a move on her but he really meant nothing of it. he just thought it was true because lijah would just go without cleaning it or putting a band aid on it. this would lead to him probably looking mangy with a nasty wound. he grabbed his bike and walked back to her. “just show me the way and you can nurse me up,” he smiled. he waited for her to start to walk and he followed closely beside her. elijah was relieved that she wasn’t too mad at him. luckily, only he was the one wounded. if it were the other way around he really had no clue what he would do. she didn’t seem to vengeful and even if she did end up using hydrogen peroxide as some sort of revenge on him he wouldn’t mind. getting his wound fixed by a pretty girl wasn’t bad at all.

TITLETEXTHERETITLETEXTHERE contrary to what most people probably thought, hunter was actually really good in relationships. she was the girlfriend that put her boyfriend’s needs before her own, and she was always doing whatever she could to make him happy. all of her relationships had broken off in the cleanest way possible, with both sides agreeing that things just didn’t have that spark to them anymore. in reality, she’d never had her heart broken. her last relationship had ended when she moved to los angelas, because neither one of them wanted to work the long distance thing. and they’re flame was already beginning to die anyway, so her move just made the split easy and convenient for the both of them. sometimes they’d still talk to each other, keeping each other updated on the other’s life. it was nothing more than a friendship though, and they were perfectly comfortable that way. nothing was awkward between them, and everything seemed to fall perfectly into place. when you got down to it, her cynical attitude had no particular reasoning. it was something that came from within herself, deep into her true nature. but that was probably what made her a good girlfriend in the end. someone had to truly win her over to earn the status of her boyfriend, which meant they had her wrapped around their finger. it was keeping that alive that was the problem. but maybe someone would eventually. after all, hunter really just wanted someone to spend her life with. as cliche as that may seem.
it would probably be a long while before hunter found someone to literally spend the rest of her life with though. in order to do that, she’d have to get past the whole ‘i’m going to mess with this guy’s head’ thing she had going on for her right now. it was pretty much impossible to get a guy to fall for you when you’re goal from the beginning was to teach him that he couldn’t have you. there had to be something or someone that stepped up and slapped her in the face and made her realize that this lifestyle wasn’t exactly ideal. it may be fun, and it may give her the amusement she needed for a night, but it wasn’t healthy for her in the long run. if anything it was just making her skills with guys seriously decline. at least in the relationship area. so what she could talk just about any guy into her bed. that didn’t help her in a long lasting relationship. no, she needed that sweet and caring girl to shine through again. she needed to be herself, because that was what a guy who was supposed to be with her would fall for. she needed someone who would sit down and play video games with her, someone who would eat fried rice with her in the candle light. then maybe at the end of the night he could carry her to the bedroom and lay her down on a bed of rose petals. ok so maybe not something that cliche, but still. hunter needed a guy that she could have fun with and enjoy the smaller things in life before they took their relationship to the bedroom. because that’s not what it was all about when you got down to it, and sleeping with someone was special for hunter. it meant she was extremely comfortable with them, and it really was her giving her everything to them.
as long as both of them were being apologetic, it was kind of hard to figure out who was at fault. but it was probably better that way, because then no one could point fingers and there’d be no petty arguing and fighting over something that was trivial anyway. at least both of them were okay and no one was being taken off to the hospital. sure, he was bleeding but it wasn’t something that hunter couldn’t take care of for him rather quickly. when he finally acknowledged the blood on his legs, she couldn’t help but let out a small laugh. wasn’t it weird how sometimes things never hurt until you actually saw them with your eyes? why was that? it was probably some psychological thing, but it would be interesting research. ”oh, i wouldn’t call you an attacker. if you were an attacker, we’d probably be half way to canada by now.” his smile was nice, and the jokes just made the situation a lot easier to deal with. hunter was a sucker for lame jokes, and she figured she could go back and forth with him all day. ”oh it is, trust me. especially when it’s my touch. there’s nothing better than that.” she held her fingers up, fluttering them in a spirit fingers kind of way before laughing slightly and dropping her hand to her side. she couldn’t tell just yet if he was trying to hit on her and turn this into one of those cheesy pornos, but if that was his game she was willing to play. well. sort of. ”the bus is this way,” she pointed over her shoulder and turned, assuming he would follow. glancing over her shoulder once, she saw that she was right. the bus wasn’t too far, so she quickly had the two of them in the lounge. ”just sit there,” she told him, pointing to the couch. ”i’ll get my little makeshift first aid kit.” she disappeared for a moment, then rejoined him and sat down next to him, a little bag placed in her lap. ”sorry if any of this burns.” she cleaned his wound with an alcohol wipe before applying a little pit of antibiotic cream and a band-aid. hopefully he wouldn’t mind that it had buzz lightyear on it, but hunter hated boring band-aids. ”there.” she leaned back, satisfied with herself. ”by the way, i’m hunter. in case you wanted to know who the random girl that convinced you to come to her bus is.” she gave him a small, flirty smirk as she crossed her arms. she wasn’t sure if he was just going to get up and leave, but she really hoped that wasn’t the case. what a waste that would be.

While Elijah was alright with the females and his relationships weren’t too hard to start his flirting skills were just a little off. He was the type of boy who made light of most situations. He could make people laugh with just simple observations; it didn’t make him some clown or prankster. He was just relaxed enough around all genders to just joke around. This usually resulted in some innocent flirting on his part. It seemed like just being a nice guy meant that he was a small flirt. He was just trying to be nice so it came off the wrong way. He was just making light situations in front of him. He knew that it was better to just brush it off rather than take it to heart. After his court ordered anger management came he learned that was the way to not have things bother him. As stupid as he once thought everything he heard in those meetings was he had actually come to practice what they told him. It had really been helpful and now he was far along enough in his life to admit that he had appreciated having to go to anger management. He had turned into a person that he liked. Now it wasn’t too hard for him to have friends that like him instead of just being friends because they were too afraid of him. Now it wasn’t so much the case. Elijah’s anger was much more controlled. The only things that really seemed to bother him the wrong way was when all out of riot was messing around or not wanting to show up for special events. They thought they coud just play their way to fame instead but he was constantly reminded them that there was more. When they talked back and doubted him he usually felt the urge to just yell. Keeping his cool became harder but somehow he would find a way to chill out.
It was rather easy to get along with the other girl as he was starting to find out. He was so relieved that she wasn’t freaking out on him. “True, but I am more of a Mexico person to be honest,” he smiled. Elijah brushed some of his hair out of his face and flashed his teeth at her. She was laughing at his light jokes, which meant that she hadn’t taken the whole thing too horribly. This was turning more into a win win situation. First off she seemed sorry for something that was his fault and now she was offering to fix up his cut. The girl didn’t seem like a psycho so he wasn’t reluctant to follow her to the bus. She was back by the buses so she it was highly unlikely a crazy fan who wanted to know what band he was with. There was actually no talk of what either band they were with, if the girl was actually with a band, but it really hadn’t crossed Elijah’s mind. He was pretty focused on the accident and the other girl. She was pretty enough where he didn’t really feel the need to ask much about her at the moment. Even if he wasn’t too keen on the fact that he was actually being distracted by her beauty. Instead it was more about the conversation being held fine without them having to know anything about each other. He let out a laugh as the girl did the spirit fingers for him. “Well with that I feel like you can heal me right up,” he smiled.
And with that he followed alongside the girl. Walking on his cut knee wasn’t too bad, as long as he didn’t really think about it. Elijah didn’t have much time since it was an incredibly short walk to the girl’s bus. There wasn’t even much of a chance to have a conversation on the way there. Once there he left his bike on the floor and followed her up the steps. “Yes ma’am,” Lijah said in an almost military like tone. He proceeded to follow her orders and sat on the couch in the lounge. While she was away he tried to see if he could figure out whose bus this was. He hadn’t paid much attention while he went back, plus he never really went on other bands buses. He was usually the one either in his own bus or walking around the grounds. There just wasn’t enough time to go and socialize with people. It was a major downfall of his but he didn’t let it bother him too much. He knew that he should be going out more; there just never seemed much time in the day to just hang out. Especially on tour he didn’t seem to think it was absolutely necessary to socialize with people when there was work to be done. This distracted from trying to find out whose band it was to him thinking about work. As he leaned back on the couch he remembered the back pack on his back and removed it. As he sat it down he watched the girl come back in with a bag in her hands. “I will try to be tough,” he said with fake fear in his voice. He watched her start to apply the alcohol he curled back in fake pain. “Be gentle with me,” he winced but it didn’t take him long to break into a smile. He placed his arm on her shoulder then brought back his knee to let her finish. “I’m a very sensitive person.” He smiled a little as he saw the buzz lightyear band-aid that she place on his cut. When she introduced herself he almost wanted to laugh. He had forgot all about saying his name or who he was. He removed his hand from her shoulder and put it out for her to shake. “Oh yeah, I am Elijah by the way,” he smiled. “I am just glad you are not some psycho.” He paused for a moment to look around again then looked back at her. “You aren’t some psycho are you? Because you seem much too pretty to be one,” he smirked not trying to be over flirtatious. Lijah may have not been the hugest flirt but he would tell a girl she was pretty if he thought she was. Now that he had been through it all he just wanted to relax for awhile even if it seemed a bit off for him. He wasn’t even hurt enough to need any time to recover but it felt like he was welcome to stay awhile. No one seemed to budge from their seats and for a moment they shared a comfortable silence. “So as my nurse I hope you can entertain me while I recover,” he joked.

TITLETEXTHERETITLETEXTHERE if there was one thing hunter missed about being in a relationship, it was stability. she liked the secure feeling she had when she was dating a guy, because when they become official it meant that she was his and he was hers. of course that could change very easily, with just a few simple words. despite that, hunter always felt safe in a relationship. maybe if she’d ever had a broken heart, that wouldn’t be the case. but seeing as she’d never had any problems out of her past boyfriends, she was never afraid to get into another relationship. if anything, she hated the whole talking phase. in her mind, if a guy was drawing that out and having a hard time committing to her, he was probably doing the same with another girl. why else would he be so reluctant to just seal the deal with her? she hated dancing around things. it made her nervous, and she tended to get pushy. but at least she put everything on the table. a lot of girls kept their mouths shut and let the guy assume what she wanted. but not hunter. she was blunt, and she told him straight what she wanted from him. life just seemed to be a lot easier that way, and it left all the guessing games in the dust.
at least the guy had a sense of humor, something hunter greatly appreciated. given their situation, not having a sense of humor would just make things difficult. if this had been two different people, there might have been some yelling and blame being passed around. but this was hunter and a guy who seemed nice enough to just brush things off. she smirked along with a small laugh, shaking her head slightly at him. ”mexico? that seems like the place to go for sex trafficking and drug cartels.” she raised an eyebrow, still smirking at him as she jokingly eyed him. as she eyed him, she began to wonder about him a little bit more. she’d never seen him around before, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t associated with the tour or anything. there were a lot of people on the tour that she hadn’t come in contact with yet. even so she was curious about him and why he was here to begin with. it was possible that he was just a fan, roaming around trying to find his way or something. bur for some reason she got the vibe that that wasn’t the case. ”oh, i can.” she told him with a small wink before leading him to her bus. so yeah, she was a bit suggestive every now and then. but she honestly couldn’t help it. it came naturally to her, and seeing as she now had a job where she was practically being paid to be a bit flirtatious, it was even worse. but there was no harm in flirting, was there? it was a fun little game, and it kept her entertained.
once hunter returned to him with the first aid kit, she noticed he’d taken his backpack off and seemed a little more relaxed now that he was just sitting on the couch. she silently hoped that this meant he was planning on staying a little while, because she got bored easily and he was attractive. and he was a lot of fun to talk to, even if she’d only been talking to him for a matter of minutes. the fake fear in his voice amused her, and she couldn’t help but give him an entertained smile. at least he was keeping things somewhat interesting instead of being dull and boring about it. ”sorry, i like to be rough.” she glanced up at him, again letting her flirtatious eyes look him over. hopefully he wasn’t one of those guys who would get turned off by little comments like that, but if he was then that was his loss. it wasn’t like hunter was going to jump him because of those little comments, like some guys seemed to believe. just because she was a little more blunt with her flirting didn’t mean she was going to rape the guy. for some reason she found that her in your face comments could scare some guys away. not that it really mattered to her, she’d just move on to the next one. hunter didn’t get caught up on little things like that. she didn’t really have a fear of rejection, because she figured that if she was rejected then it was just one guy. and what did he matter?
hunter glanced at him briefly when he placed his hand on her shoulder, but really didn’t think much of it. soon after, his hand was off of her shoulder and extended in front of her for a friendly shake. she took it, shaking his hand in that firm business like way that she had been taught to do. handshakes weren’t all that common anymore, or so it seemed. so the only time she’d ever needed to use one was in a business setting, like job interviews. ”well, nice to meet you elijah,” she said as she let go of his hand and stood to sit next to him on the couch. she couldn’t help but laugh when he asked if she was psychotic, and she laughed even more for his reason why she couldn’t be. ”i don’t think i am. but isn’t it the pretty ones that are always crazy?” she gave him a questioning look, clearly joking. it was kind of a stereotype though, wasn’t it? all those crime shows always made the crazy ones quite obviously crazy. they were usually unappealing people with strange hair or something. it probably wasn’t that way in reality. silence fell around them for a brief moment, soon broken by elijah’s voice. ”oh yeah. i can entertain you. i’ve been told i’m a very entertaining person.” ok so she actually hadn’t, but she figured she could come up with something. and it didn’t take her to long to come up with the obvious answer. ”do you like video games? everyone likes video games. how about i show you up?” she grinned, jumping up and grabbing the wireless xbox controllers after turning the system on and joining him once again.
