"]hi! my name is althea clarke, pronounced 'all thee uh' just so you know. it's greek, because my mother's family is greek, and i think it's pretty even though it's a hassle to explain to everyone when we first meet, haha. but feel free to call me thea - just drop the first part and you've got the nickname pronounciation. i just turned twenty-one about a month ago, and i'm a contributor to sound addict. i also do some show photography too, so you'll see those on my features!" "RIGHT RIGHT, SORRY. SO TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF." "well, for starters, i'm awkward. seriously, super awkward, haha. but not awkward enough to be weird, even though i definitely have some of those tendencies i suppose. they say it's cute, but i can't be sure if people are just making fun of me! i'm enthusiastic as a person, in terms of everything in life. i think i talk funny and fast, and i giggle a lot whenever i talk about something i like. and my speaking voice is pretty soft, so if you couldn't tell i'm as harmless as a butterfly. some people would describe me better as being happy, bubbly and optimistic in every way, which i think is pretty darn accurate because i run on coffee like it's my job, and why live life like a pessimist? be happy until you have a reason to not be happy! and if you're not happy, i'll come give you a hug (because i do love hugs) and a baked good of some kind. you could hire me as your motivational coach, i'm pretty good at giving advice and ecouragement and i really love helping people. i like familiarity but i'm also impulsive. i like new things and meeting people, but just be warned that i'm not that clever or eloquent of a speaker - i kind of lose my diction when i'm nervous more than a usual person would, but give me a few minutes to get into it and i'll be alright. i'm the sweetheart friend i suppose? i think if i had a dollar for how many times people have called me a sweetheart i would be very rich right now. um, what else about me...oh, i love love love being creative and it's the blood that runs through my veins. live art, breathe art. i think that pretty much sums me up, don't you think?" "INTERESTING! WHERE WAS IT THAT YOU SAID YOU COME FROM?" "i'm a small town girl with big city dreams. i'm from outside of seattle, washington, and i know that doesn't necessarily classify me as 'small town' since it's the complete opposite but it's just like, i always feel like i'm set for a bigger city with more commotion and less rain, haha. that sounds strange i suppose. anyway, i grew up as an only child to upper class parents, so i guess you could say i have good breeding and class, even though i think society standards are silly. my childhood was full of paints and reading every book i could get my hands on, and that continued throughout my teenage years. i wasn't really that much of a social person but everyone knew who i was and i was friendly with them back, but i was the floater between friend groups. i graduated three years ago from high school and was accepted to my dream school at NYU, and i currently am about to be a senior there. i study writing and journalism, and i still do my art and photography so really, much hasn't changed with me. i know, i've got a bland history. i don't have any interesting stories about boys and stuff like everyone else! but i have had a boyfriend before, before this makes me sound like a sad little girl, haha. anyway, i've had a pretty consistent twenty-one years of life if i do say so myself, and i'm happy. that's all that matters. c:" "WOW. SO WHAT IS A DAY IN THE LIFE OF YOU LIKE?" "my day depends on how my hair wants to cooperate, haha. i think you can tell my mood or how i feel about everything from my hairstyle or color, because it's always changing. i'm a typical girl though, i doll myself up even if i don't have to go anywhere for that long, and even if i didn't have to be out for too long of a time i always adventure around to keep myself on my toes. i stop by the nearest starbucks every morning before class and during the day i fill my cup at least twice. i know it's terrible but i can't help it, it comes with the city atmosphere. plus i'm from seattle, can you blame me? umm, the rest of the days depend on the time. during the year i have classes and homework, plus the pieces i need to write. and then free times are spent baking and creating cool things, or hanging out with lovely people like you." "NICE. LAST QUESTION... WHY ARE YOU WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW AND WHAT DOES THE FUTURE LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?" "i wasn't gifted with musical talent even though i really really wish i was! but despite that i really love music as well, so i go to a lot of shows whenever my favorite people are in my area. being friendly and showing support for bands gained me quite a few lovely friends, and i love love love them and appreciate their talents. i started to build a portfolio of concert photography when i was nineteen, and the experience got me a little further and i decided i wanted to encorporate all the things i loved into some sort of profession one day or at least a project that i would work with in my daily life. and well, the opportunity came for me to join sound addict as a contributor - they had used some of my photography before, and i actually woke to an email one day offering me a position. so well, it worked out in the end - during the year i blog at school and interview in new york city, and during my breaks i'm free to be anywhere. i love to travel for shows and i mean, between always going from new york city and seattle it's easy for me to take a trip anywhere now! i'm so close to getting my bachelor's, so hopefully once i'm finished i'll be able to establish a bigger plan and expand my horizons. sky's the limit!" "ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD?" "anything else your character would like to say." hey there, the name's steph. i live in the eastern time zone and this is my fourth character. |
