ally messer was hardly the type that concerned herself with taking things easy. she was either going 100 mph, or zero. and it wasn't like she'd get stressed out. no, she loved working more than anything. it was just that he tended to do this thing were she'd have a huge list of things to do that she'd to back to back without taking any sort of break. she awoke that morning in the tour bus with her face on her laptop keyboard, still sitting in the back lounge from the night before. the business side of things took quite some time, and she'd been up almost all night just dealing with it in her little make shift office. ally was far from happy that she'd fallen asleep as such, because now her face had weird imprints on it. she sigh, shutting her laptop before making her way to her floor level bunk. tempted to just fall into her super soft blanket and sleep in, ally resisted waywardly before looking through the cloths at the foot of her bunk. she usually kept two or three days worth of cloth out for quick access, hating having to pull out her suitcase day by day. she settled on a pair or black skinny jeans and her favorite t-shirt that she'd stolen from rylan, a bob marley tee that barely fit her skinny frame. the shirt always ended up sliding down her shoulder slightly. and seeing as allison found flat shoes a crime against humanity, she slipped on her platformed red flip-flops, smiling as she looked down at the big red bow that sate on the thongs. make-up was quick. she'd mastered it down to six minutes. mascara, liner, shadow, lipstain, done. as for her messy curls, ally didn't even bother. it was so hot out that if she'd even bothered straightening it, it would've just frizzed up by the end of the day. checking herself one last time in the mirror, she grabbed her pass and hung it around her neck, taking her walkie talkie before she sauntered off the bus. after that, the day was go go go. right as she'd made it into the festival, the merch tent was looking for her. she briskly made her way over, getting stopped a few times by matm fans who wanted a picture. despite her love for attention, ally felt weird about such things. she knew the crew was just as known as the band members, but she wasn't famous or anything special, so why would someone want a picture with her? once she made it to the tent, she had to sort out a bit of confusion about the new merch that had come in just for the festival, as well as work the table for a little bit because things had gotten extremely busy. afterward, ally tracked down the band -- who of course were all in different places -- and made sure that they got to a signing tent on time. from there it was her least favorite job, which was crowd control. she hated having to be the bitch and tell fans all the "rules". plus she hated having to keep people in line. cutting and crowding always became an issue. as soon as the signing was over, the band began wandering off. "remember, stage at 2:40!" she shouted. had they all heard her? probably not. ally sighed. but they were all pretty good at making it right on time. ally took time to some two cigarettes before looking at her phone and realizing the time. shit, it was already 1:30. rushing back to the bus, she talked to the roadies, making sure to organize everyone. she could feel herself getting lightheaded, but ignored it. it was probably just a hunger pain, and she wouldn't eat until the band's set was over. time passed quickly, and soon she was watching the boys set up the stage. she saw on struggling with an amp, and quickly offered her help. "here, hold on," she amended. she had started to pick it up with suddenly she was lightheaded again. only this time, it wasn't going away. she could hear someone saying something like "yo, ally. you okay? and then she blacked out. ally woke up in the med tent with people hovering over here. shit, not again. she began to shoot up, only to lay right back down from the headrush. "shit," he mumbled, "nobody tell rylan. everyone just don't worry, i'm fine." she wondered how long she'd been out. the band wasn't there, so the set had to be going. but two of the roadies were still there with her. "fuck! the set. i need to go. like right now," she told the paramedic. he didn't seem too convinced. "ally, bro. you not going anywhere," one of the roadies exclaim. she sighed and gave a huff. couldn't they just give her a water and be done with it? she needed to bounce before word got to rylan and he made his way to the tent. there was very little that her boyfriend go upset about, but one thing was definitely when she didn't take care of herself. ally had a tendency to forgot essential things like eating and drinking lots of water on tour. "has anyone told rylan?" someone asked. ally shook her head, eyes still closed. "no one tell rylan, no rylans in this tent!" ally continued babbling about why rylan was not needed, too tired to fight the medic as he put a water tube into her arm. words 954 tagged nicole notes sorry it's shit.

TITLETEXTHERETITLETEXTHERE after being stuck in the los angelas heat, spending the majority of his time lounging around his apartment and getting high, being out on tour was a refreshing change for rylan. not that he didn’t like la. he loved la, and he loved living with max and ally. it was a pretty good set up they had going, even if ally was probably mothering them a lot of the time. it wasn’t exactly the boys’ fault that they were horrible at taking care of themselves. was it? nah. rylan figured as long as he had ally around, he’d be able to manage. plus, there were times when he actually took care of her. don’t laugh, because it’s true. even if he was horrible at taking care of himself, the boy had a large heart. it probably seemed like all he cared about was getting high and eating everything he could, but he was much deeper than that. when the people around him were hurting or not taking care of themselves, that was when he stepped in. his lack of concern about himself was made up in his overwhelming concern for others. that was probably the only thing that bothered him about his girlfriend, seeing as he wasn’t the type to get bothered anyway. but seeing as she was a manager for his best friend’s band, her life could sometimes get stressful. and rylan understood. sort of. at least he understood that dealing with a band on a business level was probably irritating sometimes. but he hated how she forgot to take care of herself because she was busy taking care of them.
the only bad thing about being on tour was that rylan was stuck on the hot seekers bus while ally and max were on the madison and the monster bus. rylan loved his band, they were some of the best guys in the world. it was just that he’d gotten used to turning around and seeing either his best friend or his girlfriend standing there. now all he saw was zephyr and hayden. there were sometimes during the day that he got to see the two best people in his life. right now though, he was pulling on a pair of pants and t-shirt so he could head out of his bus and to the hot seekers tent. the band had a signing coming up soon, so he figured he should get to the tent a little early so he could set things up and make sure everything looked presentable. he ran a brush through his hair and brushed his teeth before pulling on a pair of converse and walking out of the bus. he stopped to stretch before heading to the band’s tent. there were already a few fans there, so he took the time to take a few pictures and sign a few things before heading into the tent to arrange the tables into position for the signing. they hung around and watched him, and slowly but surely a line started to develop for the signing, and before rylan realized it the signing had started. he always loved signings, even if he didn’t really get the chance to have a conversations with his fans. it was still nice to see their smiling faces, take pictures, and hear their words of appreciation. when you got down to it, this was why rylan was even in this business. well, besides his love for music of course.
as soon as the signing was started, it was over, and rylan was helping arrange the tables back to their original position. from where he was, he could hear madison and the monster taking the stage. as the sound of their first song, he started rushing around to finish what he was doing so he could run out to catch max’s set. usually during madison and the monster’s set, he’d stand side stage with ally. he liked supporting her and max, because they were also very supportive of him. his set was later in the day, one of the last of the day actually. and he was sure they’d be there to see him play too. he had just finished up with the tent and turned to head out when someone walked around the corner, calling his name before they even saw him. as irritating as the news he received was, he really wasn’t that shocked. it was just like ally to not take care of herself on tour. forgetting about his friend’s set, he immediately headed to the medical tent where his most likely dehydrated girlfriend was. thankfully it didn’t take him long to get there, and he arrived just in time to hear her declare that no one named rylan was allowed in the tent. with a roll of his eyes, he stepped through and walked over to the cot that she was laying on. ”too late,” he said with a slight irritation to his voice. someone handed him a chair, and he sat down next to her. ”am i going to have to follow you around and pour water down your throat? i know all this managing stuff is important, but you can’t keep the band in line if you’re not taking care of yourself.” he sighed, taking a sip of a water bottle that someone had handed him. it was probably meant to be for ally, but he never paid attention to things so he ended up drinking it himself. ”have you eaten today?” he leaned forward, preparing himself to drill her with questions and accusations. after all, he knew her better than anyone else in this tent did.

this had happened before, on more than one occasion. usually, however, it never got to this extent. there was the last tour, when she had been running around on an off day trying to set up things for the band to do and she'd collapsed because she hadn't eaten all day. and the time she almost dropped part of a drum set because she was lightheaded from lack of water. and of course, there had been rumors about it. she was anorexic, or bulimic, or had a terrible anxiety disorder. but none of that was the case. she was simple a girl who moved to fast and spent all her time thinking about other people. after all, her entire life was manage the lives of others. even in her down time, she was a very motherly girl towards her roommates. the fact of the matter was that ally didn't really know how to take care of herself. as far as she was concerned, she did that by taking care of other people. which was why rylan was good for her. while he was pretty carefree, he had always cared about ally's well being. that had been one of the things that she'd fallen for with him. no one else had really ever taken care of her before. after all, she was a pretty independent person. when she was growing up in connecticut, she hadn't had any brothers or sisters, and she basically been the third adult in her house. she cleaned, did her own laundry, often cooked her own meals. and when her parents were home, she was doing everything for them just out of courtesy. and that's how ally had ended up lacking in self-care. her only real thing she did for herself was buy shoes. deep down, ally knew that she needed to do a better job. she couldn't be wonder woman all the time. sure, wonder woman was an awesome manager, but she was also a manager who had just fainted from a heat stroke. at the sound of rylan's voice, ally opened her eyes slightly. she pursed her lips, giving the evil eye to the roadie he had ran and found her boyfriend. "i'm really okay, i promise," she mused. but it was an empty comment. rylan saw right through her bullshit, always. it was his superpower or something. she sighed, looking away from her boyfriend as he went on about her disregard for self. of course she knew all those things were true, she just had a hard time keeping track. turning her head to the side, she gave a lopsided frown. "i know, i know," she lamented. it was better not to argue. mostly because rylan was right and she new he was. she planned a hand on her forehead, closing her eyes to thing. had she eaten anything today? "um... i took a a bite of max's chicken tender?" knowing that would not satisfy ry at all, she huffed out a soft breathe before looking back at him. "i was going to eat as soon as the set was over. i had planned on it, so it totally counts." she justified. okay, that's not really how it worked, but ally was going to find a way to make rylan not frustrated with her. she didn't like when things were anything but pleasant between them. and because there were only rare times when it wasn't, when those moments popped up ally was all but anxious to get rid of the mood. slowly, she managed to sit up on the cot, swinging her legs off the side so she could look at rylan. a medic removed the tube from her arm, handing her a water bottle instead, and the commotion over her fainting slowly but surely went away. the roadies made their way back to the stage to break down the set, and she had time to talk with her boyfriend alone. despite just having fainted from over working herself, her mind was still telling her there were things that needed to be done right now that weren't getting done because she was just sitting here. she took a long drink of her water, surprised at how good it tasted all of a sudden. clearly, she should've at least had a water bottle on her all day. she looked and rylan with a soft, half-grin before looking down at her legs. there was a very different feeling she felt now: embarrassment. "so um... i was at working the merch cause it got really busy, and i was going to go get a water, but then i had to round everyone up for a signing. and then i had to do crowd control. and i almost went and got a water on the way to meet with the roadies, but then i was like ten minutes behind, and then just..." she paused before shaking her head, "i just wasn't paying attention. and i'm sorry." she looked back up at her boyfriend with sad eyes. she felt like she was in trouble for some reason. frowning deeply, she opened her water before staring into the opening. "are you totally pissed at me?" she asked in a small voice. ally really hated when people were made at her. words 900 tagged nicole notes i actually like this post, yes. :)

TITLETEXTHERETITLETEXTHERE the fact that ally had actually fainted made rylan a little uneasy, because normally she wasn’t that bad. sure, she’d sway a little bit and you could tell that something wasn’t right. people talked about her, but he was good about brushing those things off. or he’d just assure anyone who questioned him that her eating habits were typically fine, and she was just a busy person who tended to forget about the more important things sometimes. even knowing this, he never understood how she could forget to eat. rylan was a vacuum, and he was almost always snacking on something. if he ever got sick, it was because he’d eaten too much. not because he’d eaten nothing at all. he could probably give ally a quarter of the food he ate, and it’d be more than she ate on a typical day. most of the time he actually did that. whenever he sat down to eat, he’d try to get her to eat some of her food if she hadn’t eaten anything yet. that was in his nature, as shocking as that may seem. he did have a little bit of responsibility in him, despite what curious on lookers may have thought. you could smoke and be responsible. it wasn’t hard, and rylan was living proof of that. it was just that he was responsible in different areas. there were things he could easily take care of and things he couldn’t. that was when ally came in.
as soon as ally opened her eyes, rylan could tell she was irritated with the fact that he’d shown up. he gave the roadie an apologetic smile as she gave him the evil eye, because he truly appreciated the fact that someone had informed him of what was going on. ”you’re not okay, you passed out. and not in the good way.” leaning forward, he placed his forearms on his knees with his hands clasped together between them. rylan loved to sleep, and he usually slept really well after smoking a few bowls and eating everything. most of the time, when someone wanted to know where he was during those points, they ‘d say he was passed out somewhere. so when it came to passing out, there was only one good way to do it. but it was kind of sad that ally’s next comment shocked rylan for the wrong reason. how had she managed to get some of max’s food without him biting her hand off? maybe he was just like that with rylan, but you can bet from now on that rylan was going to be stealing max’s food and snapping at him about how he let ally do it. that’s just how he was, because he could be like that with max. the two of them were close enough to be complete jerks to each other without thinking anything of it, even though they almost never were. for the most part they were two happy, carefree guys. ”because a bite is enough to get you through the day, right?” leaning back again, he shook his head. ”no, that doesn’t count. you need to eat before the set. you can’t just keep putting it off. and with all the stuff that goes on getting ready for the set, you need food in you.” he made a mental note to find her every day from now on and make sure she was eating before running around and doing whatever it was that she felt the need to do during the day. if rylan were honest, he wasn’t really sure. he didn’t even know what his own manager was doing half of the time.
when she sat up and turned to face him, rylan sat forward in case she got dizzy or something again. everything seemed fine though, and soon she had a water bottle in her hands. he eyed her until she opened it and took a long drink, not even noticing that the tent had cleared out and left the two of them alone. something else he needed to do was make sure she always had water on her. that would probably result in him sending her periodic text messages to make sure she was hydrated. and if she didn’t answer him, he’d blow up her phone and then text someone who was probably near her. actually, that was probably a better idea. since rylan couldn’t always be with her out here because of his own duties, he needed eyes that would watch her for him. surely he could recruit a roadie to do that for him. and if ally didn’t listen to them, they could just threaten to find rylan. hopefully that would take care of things. ”i know you weren’t paying attention, but you need to.” he sighed a little bit, not sure what else to say about it. ”you can’t just keep neglecting your needs for other people. you need to take care of yourself too.” not that rylan could talk much, seeing as he rarely took care of himself. sometimes he’d try, but he was just really bad at it. cooking wasn’t his thing. he usually burnt things and melted plastic containers. when she frowned, rylan stood so he could kiss her nose before jumping up onto the cot beside her. it had wheels. a few ideas ran through his head, but the more logical side of him overpowered the stupid side. but only because ally needed him to be logical right now, and riding the cot down a hill wasn’t exactly logical. later though. ”i’m not pissed. you just need to take care of yourself so you can do all your managing stuff without any trouble.” he smiled at her, knowing that the whole manager thing was important to add in. it might be the only reason she stopped to eat.

the thing about ally that had to be understood was that she was a balancing act caring entirely too many thing at one time, always. she held the weight of the world on her shoulders, but was never unhappy about it. she loved being busy, loved working, loved having all that pressure. it got her adrenaline pumping. with that kind of ambition, there were setbacks. but that's where rylan made her complete. if she was a tight wire act, he was the rope she trusted to keep her up. a lot of people had questioned her when she'd began dating rylan. as if someone smoking a lot of weed and being a traveling musician made them a bad partner. but ally wasn't stupid. she was an extremely good judge of character. even when rylan had been extremely chill around her, and others doubted that he was interested, she had known he was. she understood him. he wasn't extremely affection. he was hilariously and endearingly bad at any sort of romance. but he cared for her in a way that no one had before. he'd make sure she ate, ask her how she was feeling and honestly want to hear the answer. it was his own way of showing affection, caring for her in the little ways. and she appreciated it. ally had never been that girl who wanted her boyfriend all over her, constantly touching. no, she liked the random displays of affection. the unexpected peck on the lips, or kiss on the cheek. if someone did that all the time, they'd lose their specialness, wouldn't they? plus ally was still independent. and being with someone who was constantly on her would just annoy her to no end. so she could easily looked to rylan, who only meant well with his concern, and feel grateful. ally couldn't help but smirk at the sigh pause rylan took when she had told him she'd gotten a bite of max's food. that was her boy. always thinking about food. of course, she had only gotten a bite of max's food because he hadn't been looking, but she'd just keep that part to herself. she sighed, knowing that rylan was making perfect sense. it was so annoying having to admit you were in the wrong. ally nodded in agreement with rylan. if anyone else had said the same thing, she probably would've fought them for a while, but with him she just let it be. the facts were the facts: she needed to be eating more. especially during tour, because she was constantly up and running. ally suspected that the wheels were already turning in rylan's head on how to make sure that she was eating throughout the day. it only irritated her for a moment, before she accepted that it was for the best. she knew that she could use a reminder or two to eat during the day. she was usually good about water, just today and gotten too crazy too quickly. ally couldn't help but smile softly when rylan sat up protectively. yeah, she'd chosen her boyfriend well. ally nodded accordingly in reply to rylan, taking another sip of her water. "easier said than done for me," she admitted. her mood was instantly brightened, however, as rylan placed a soft kiss on her nose. uncharacteristically, she blushed, smiling wide. "yeah, you're right," she proclaimed. ally let out a long, relaxed sign, resting her head on rylan's shoulder. she closed her eyes, basking in the quiet of the tent. it wasn't silent, not with the festival still going, but it was serene enough for ally to take a moment to pull herself together. it was nice knowing that the silence between the two of them was comfortable. often people wouldn't even know the two were dating because they didn't speak a whole lot around each other. they were very good at silent communication with one another. ready to bring herself back to her feet, ally turned to her boyfriend and happily threw her arms around his neck. "love you," she said softly, give him a kiss. ally soon stood on her feet, dusting herself off and straightening out her cloths. it took her a moment to realize once again that she was in one of rylan's shirt. she looked down at the red, green, and black tee, and then back up at him with a mischievous smile. "you can get this back later," she said, although her voice made it known that it was a promise, and not a passing statement. she took a step towards where he sat, making the distance between them a little less impersonal. "i missed your set today," she said with a little unhappily. "how was it?" ally messed idly with her hair, flipping it to the left as she listened to rylan talk. his voice was extremely soothing to her. looking behind herself for a moment, she noticed that the grounds were clearing out. they were all done for the day. immediately, she though of at least six things she needed to do right now. but she took a deep breath. even she needed a little break once in a while. "looks like they're wrapping up. you want to go get something to eat before the party tonight?" she asked. ally rubbed her lips together, smacking them in hopes that the color from the remnants of her lipstain would spread about. words 915 tagged nicole notes meh. idk what this is.

TITLETEXTHERETITLETEXTHERE sometimes rylan wondered what he would be like if he had to take care of everything that ally had on her plate. he didn’t think about it too long though, because he knew that he wouldn’t be able to handle it like she did. the majority of his time was spent making sure he had nothing to do, because he was your typical lazy boy. when he’d met ally, he’d lucked out. not very many people understood him and his lack of affection. it wasn’t like he was aromantic or anything, because he could be romantic sometimes. it was just that he wasn’t really into that most of the time. he showed his affection by giving someone his attention instead of blocking out what they were saying and living in his head like he typically did. that was something rylan was extremely bad about, and even though he deeply cared for ally, sometimes he caught himself doing it to her too. but there was a completely different world inside rylan’s head, and it was quite the interesting place to be. so if he ignored you, it wasn’t something to be taken offensively. he truly meant no harm, and he probably didn’t even realize that he was doing it. it was nice though, because when he snapped back into reality you knew that he was truly concerned or interested in the situation. when you got down to it, he wasn’t that hard to figure out.
it was nice to see ally actually sipping on her water, because if rylan had to guess that was probably one of the only things she’d had to drink all day. he really didn’t know though, seeing as he hadn’t really kept up with her today. if he had, she probably wouldn’t be in this situation to begin with. whenever he spent the day with her, he always made sure she stayed hydrated and well fed. this was mostly because he had a tendency to surround himself with food, but still. it worked in his favor when it came to her health too. even if the food he kept around wasn’t the most healthy, at least he was getting something into her system that way. hopefully tomorrow he’d get to spend more time with her, not only because of this, but because he really wanted to spend time with his girlfriend. they were the type of couple that was perfectly comfortable just being in the presence of the other one. they didn’t have to be talking about something, cuddling, kissing, or any of that stuff. they could just be in the same room, sitting in complete silence, and that was okay. they understood each other without words. they had before they’d ever started dating. that’s why they worked. thinking back on it, rylan couldn’t even remember how he’d asked ally to be his girlfriend. this was mostly because he didn’t. she just knew that was what he wanted, and they kind of stumbled into it.
unlike most boyfriends, when ally rested her head on rylan’s shoulder, rylan left his hands sitting in his lap. it seemed like most boys would put an arm around their girlfriend, pull her close, and let her snuggle up to them. that just wasn’t rylan. it wasn’t that he didn’t want things like that, it was that those things just didn’t cross his mind. it never occurred to him that pulling her closer would be a sweet, caring gesture. this was what made him so lucky to have ally, someone who understood that it wasn’t that he didn’t want her close, it was that he just didn’t think about having her close. that probably sounds bad too, but it wasn’t like that. rylan was just a dunce when it came to romance. simple enough. the quick kiss from ally caught rylan off guard, but he accepted it happily anyway. when she got off the cot, he again leaned forward in preparation to help her if she needed it. it wasn’t until a minute or so later that his mind registered that she’d told him she loved him. sitting up straight, he nodded toward her. ”love you too,” he told her. those words were probably the most awkward to come out of his mouth, but no matter the tone of his voice, he meant it. his eyes then went to her shirt, just now realizing that it was his. actually, if she hadn’t said anything he probably wouldn’t have ever noticed. he was the type to pay much attention to detail. plus, he could really careless if she was in one of his shirts. for all he knew it was actually max’s shirt that he’d accidently claimed as his own at one point. it was very possible. ”just toss it in my bunk,” he told her, knowing that was probably the only way he’d even realize it was back in his possession. he’d pretty much turned his bunk into a junk drawer.
he frowned when her voice took on a saddened tone, just because she’d missed his set. he didn’t see the big deal, seeing as there was a tour full of them that she could make it out too. ”i have another one tomorrow,” he said with a chipper smile. rylan was always the one to point out the obvious in the most enthusiastic way possible. ”it was fun! we had a good crowd. they were really into it.” this was how he described most of their sets, because he wasn’t the best with detail. plus, he always had fun on stage, and in his opinion there was no such thing as a bad set. well, unless someone got hurt or something. but even then they could typically blow that off and keep playing with a bloody nose. rylan knew that from experience, because he was talented enough to hit himself in the face with his bass. peeking over ally’s shoulder, he also noticed that the grounds were starting to clear out. ”yeah! let’s get some chicken. i want chicken.” he jumped off the cot, starting to walk out of the tent without thinking about whether or not ally would follow. whenever food was mentioned, his stomach started leading him around. not that his brain was much better anyway.
