memories were supposed to be a thing of happiness, spencer always thought. sometimes he would lay in his bunk and recollect every memory had and majority of them were memories he never wanted to think about again. thinking about his parents made his stomach sick and his insides curl, thinking about his sister brought on nostalgia for how old they were getting, and every other memory was just tainted by another memory popping up and ruining it. he almost wanted to sleep the rest of the day off, feeling the tiring stress of tour slowly begin to take it’s toll on him. he took out his phone and lit the screen up with a simple press of the home button, looking at the picture of them together that he never took off of his background. he really did love sadie, he knew in his heart that he did, he just. had a trouble of showing it, everyone knew that. anton knew about spencer’s whole life basically, seeing as anton had been his best friend for years. “please don’t let me fuck this up[/i],” spencer mumbled to himself, rubbing at his eye and walking into the room. it was empty, which he thought meant that the rest of the band was probably out to go and have good time and do whatever they had to do. he scrolled through his contacts and clicked on sadie’s contact name and sent her a quick text message. ‘know you’re on the plane, but i hope you’re safe. remember that i love you.’ and sent it away without a single thought. he could almost feel the burden on his back, how he knew that this was a chance, but was it worth taking? spencer thought it was, he always thought sadie was a chance worth taking, he knew that. he almost wanted to call her, hoping somehow she’d be able to pick up, and right every wrong he’s done to her. save her from himself. spencer sighed quietly to himself and quietly began to get dressed, pushing every paranoid thought away from his mind.
spencer spent a few minutes in the rental car he picked up. he could feel his hands shake slightly on the wheel, his stomach flopping uncomfortably. he knew that it shouldn’t have been this hard. all he had to do was get out of the car and wait an hour or so for sadie to come and then they would start over. he got out of the car slowly, checking his hair in the mirror before he closed it and locked it. he wondered how much stuff sadie brought along with her, and if she brought any of her hair feathers to try and sell. he suddenly felt a swell of emotion in his chest. he wanted her to be happy here, to try and become more outgoing and for her to break out of her shell that spent years and years building up. it almost made him upset how much he wanted her to experience life, because it was his fault that she didn’t. “fuck.[/i]” opening the car, he closed it with a heavy throw, getting out all the aggression in his system with that simple throw. he didn’t feel anxious though, seeing as he took his pills before he left just in case something was going to blow up in his face. he really hoped nothing would go wrong, even prayed.
spencer was just another body in the airport. crying children being strolled away in a rush, couples smiling and kissing one another as they went to their planes, old couples, anyone and everyone in between was either leaving or going. spencer clenched his fist in his pocket, making sure to just sit down near the board announcing the flights. he saw the flight from delaware and chicago and saw that it had been delayed and he would have sit for another hour or so. great, he thought. fishing out his phone, he took began to scroll through twitter, checking all the tweets he forgot to check up on while he was in the shower and other sites. he clicked a few apps and played a few games to pass the time, his foot tapping in a rhythm. by the end of the second hour he had to wait, spencer was standing up. pacing around as he looked at the terminal where sadie would come through. he thought about her sad eyes, how they would be unguarded and happy when they looked at him. how he would inevitably crush that look in one simple night. “no, no.[/i]” spencer turned his back to the terminal for a minute, clearing his head. he thought about how sadie would run to him and hug him, how he would smell her vanilla body lotion that she always wore, that he even sometimes applied to her when she couldn’t reach her back. it made a faint smile show up on his lips. turning around, he saw a few people begin to exit the terminal. once he saw sadie he felt his skin begin to prickle, and he broke out into a wide grin. once she reached him, her eyes kind, cautious. he reached down and cupped her cheeks, kissing her lips. “hey, pretty girl,[/i]” he whispered, his thumb stroking her delicate cheek. he was going to try his damned hardest not to fuck this up.
