"Hey, I'm Camilla Cartier. You know, like the jewelry company? unfortunately I have no relation to them whatsoever. Most people call me Cam or Millie, which is fine by me, I guess. Oh, and Camilla supposedly means 'attendant at a sacrifice' in Italian, pretty sweet huh? I'm 24 and manage strike the seas." "RIGHT RIGHT, SORRY. SO TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF." "Despite what others may tell you, I’m a sweet down to earth girl. I guess my looks and determination give off a bitchy vibe sometimes, but honestly I’d love to be friends with everyone. I’ve been working in the music industry for almost four years now and have learned that people will treat you the way you allow them to and if you want respect you must demand it and work hard for it. Even though I go out of my way to nice to others, don’t mistake my kindness for weakness. I have no problem standing up for myself and telling you where to shove it. People tell me I’m sassy and sarcastic and I guess it’s true since I always seem to have a clever come back, even when it’s not needed. I’m persuasive and will do anything in my power to make sure the people I care for, as well as myself, have everything we need." "INTERESTING! WHERE WAS IT THAT YOU SAID YOU COME FROM?" "I was born in Westminster, England, you know the city where Buckingham Palace is located? No one ever believes me though, perhaps it’s because the absence of an accent. I moved to LA when I was ten. My father is actually a producer and sound engineer, so we moved here to better his career. I can honestly say I don’t miss England one bit. I’m not much of a gloomy, rainy weather kind of person, so LA’s almost non-stop sun shine is a perfect fit. Unlike a lot of people. I knew my parents would be behind one hundred percent when I told them I wanted to work in the music industry. They funded my expensive degree at USC while I majored in music industry, and even helped me get my foot in the door with my first internship. I originally planned to go to law school after I got my bachelor’s degree, but ended up getting offered a job at a small label in downtown San Diego. I worked in their A&R department and made tons of connections with local bands, venues, and other industry professionals. It was that job that showed me exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to manage, rather it was tour managing or managing a artists full career, I was down. A few years that label closed it’s doors and I had to make the decision to move back to LA or try to find another job in San Diego. As much as I love San Diego, the industry jobs just aren’t that plentiful. Luckily an old friend told me about an opening at the truth agency and I jumped at the opportunity, the rest is history. " "WOW. SO WHAT IS A DAY IN THE LIFE OF YOU LIKE?" "Well, I don’t really have a ‘typical schedule or day’, it usually differs depending on what I actually have to do. I always try to get up early and go to the gym, but end up eating a big bowl of cereal and watching TV instead. Then I feed my husky, Charlie, and get ready for the day. Once I’ve made it to the office I usually give the boys a call to make sure everyone’s still alive and give them a general run down of what’s going on rather it’s an upcoming tour or a recording session or whatever. I then check my e-mail, reply to e-mails and attend any meetings I have scheduled. Since I seem to always be on the run I also try to have lunch with my mom at least once a week, so she doesn’t worry to much. On the weekends, I try to stay away from work and just relax. I love shopping, going to the beach and just hanging out with my dog." "NICE. LAST QUESTION... WHY ARE YOU WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW AND WHAT DOES THE FUTURE LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?" "My main motivation is my family. They’ve always taught me to dream big and not to let anything stand in my way. I plan on working in this industry until I can’t anymore. Even though my father did pull some strings to get me my first internship, I’ve been busting my ass to get where I am now, I don’t want handouts because of who he is. I’d love to tour full-time or even own my own management company some day. But, if there’s one thing that managing bands has taught me, it’s that I have a natural nurturing and maternal instinct, so I’d love to get married and have a family one day. The only problem is that I barely have time for my friends, let alone a husband and kids." "ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ADD?" "'Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination.' - Oscar Wilde" hey there, the name's Jasmine. i live in the pacific time zone and this is my first character. |
